Standing beneath the cloak of darkness, I welcomed the light of the moon and stars. In the silence of the night, I felt my entire body expand. The inky sky allows the dazzling light of the moon and stars to shine even brighter. It is something we can easily lose sight of in the intense light of day. Washed in a slivery glow, I slowly allowed myself to let go of my thoughts. I chose to connect deeper with the sound of my own beating heart. I chose to embrace the light and the unknown that moves in the shadows of my depths. The further I tilted my head back to stargaze, I could feel myself sway from the dizzying effect of the moment through my body. I instinctively reminded myself to center and ground. I needed to feel the physical plane all around me so I could fine tune my focus and dig my roots deeper into the earth beneath my feet. Immediately, I felt my heart swell. That was when I realized that my heart chakra was facing the midnight sky, open, and willing to connect with the billions of stars directly above me. I could feel the energies and blessings of the Great Celestial beings. Crickets sang in their late summer symphony. Coyotes howled in the distance. My head felt light once more as the energy surged. I knew that I was not alone in that moment. I heard the echoes of those who came before me as they wished upon the same stars. They used them to guide their way in the night as they traveled under the same moonlight. They have whispered prayers and chanted incantations for thousands of years to the beautiful Lady of Reflective Light and the twinkling diamonds that adorned her midnight mantle. I felt the ancestors, known and unknown around me, urging me to explore the sacred Mysteries. I admit, the energy was a lot to bear, but not only because of the cosmic rush of love and support of the ancestors. It was the Divine Cosmic Mother, weaving her threads within and around me and I felt her presence.
The Goddess whispered, “Come to me when you are feeling lost and alone. Come to me when you are unsure. Come to me, night or day and feel the connections that we share. Look up to the stars in the silence of the night. You will find me there, stretching across the Milky Way, offering you the silver moonlight to guide your path. Hold your hope within your heart. Allow the stardust to stir your dreams. As you breathe life into your being, watch for signs of new life in the east. The fires at dawn will birth a new day, washing any fears or indecision gently away. Remember, you hold the seeds of a fresh start.”
I ask you, what will you choose to do as you stand between the light of the moon and the rising sun?
The new light of a day is a fresh start. It is a chance we share every single day when we rise again. Much like the light that sparkles in the darkness of the night, we can also forget that we too, have a new chance to begin again each day. I think that this is especially true when we feel stuck or disconnected from ourselves as we rise in the morning or have an emotional or chaotic day. We experience each day with expectations and demands, losing sight of the connections we collectively share. When we pause to seek the beauty around us, we can also be reminded to look within and witness the beauty inside as well. We all don’t have to experience the same things. We are all unique points of light living within these tumultuous times. We all share an innate ability to both shine and reflect the full spectrum of light we experience daily. The important thing is to remember these truths, especially when we are not at our best.
In the morning, when the dawn begins to awaken and peels back the starry curtain of night, we can choose to remember that we too, begin again fresh each day. We can choose to weave our own life from the threads of the Goddess. Although she weaves the great tapestry of humanity that we are all living in, we do have some say in what we wish to weave, cut from our lives, and mend over time. We have the power to bathe in moonlight. We have the chance to bask in the first light of dawn. We have the power to dream and weave our own fabric of life and breathe it into existence. What will you choose to do with your life in this moment? How do you create?
The sun and moon are two celestial bodies with very different energies. The moon is very reflective and works with our dreams, intuition, and emotions while the sun is bright, powerful, and helps to propel us into action. Is there one that you feel more comfortable with? If so, how would you work with the other? Perhaps the other celestial body is the exact medicine that you need.
Will you open your heart to the lovingly powerful and creative force of life all around you with the Cosmic Mother? What are your ready to reflect on? What are you ready to sever so you may begin once again? Try to absorb the energies of the sun and the moon. How does it feel to stand between them? Remember, if you are feeling lost, stuck, or alone, you can always turn to the Goddess. She will be waiting for you between the soft moonlight and the awakening sun ready to help you weave your life.
Be well,
